Join us April 24 for a discussion on Parkinson’s and Memory care

As we continue our journey together in navigating the challenges of Parkinson’s disease, I am excited to announce an upcoming session that promises to be both informative and empowering.

On Wednesday, April 24th, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., we will be gathering at the LifeFit Wellness Center to delve into two crucial aspects of Parkinson’s care: memory screening and holistic approaches to enhancing quality of life.

Memory loss can be a concerning issue for individuals with Parkinson’s, and that’s why it’s essential to establish a baseline through memory screening. This initial assessment not only helps in detecting any early signs of memory impairment but also serves as a valuable reference point for future evaluations. To shed light on this topic, we are privileged to have Ginny Underwood from Memory Matters joining us. Ginny is a former caregiver to her husband who battled Parkinson’s dementia.  She  will provide insights into the importance of receiving a baseline memory screening and resources that can support those experiencing early memory loss.

Furthermore, our session will also explore the significance of holistic care approaches for individuals living with dementia. We understand that managing Parkinson’s involves more than just addressing physical symptoms—it encompasses the entire well-being of the individual. By adopting holistic strategies that focus on enhancing quality of life and overall well-being, we can empower ourselves and our loved ones to live more fulfilling lives despite the challenges posed by the disease.

I encourage each of you to mark your calendars and join us for this enriching session. Together, we can learn, support one another, and discover new ways to navigate the complexities of Parkinson’s with resilience and grace.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if there’s anything specific you would like to discuss during the session. Your input is invaluable, and I look forward to our gathering on April 24th.

Warm regards,

Scott and Rick
