Our next support meeting will be in two weeks, Wednesday, May 28th at 1:30 p.m. at the LifeFit Wellness Center. We are fortunate to have Katie Rider Mundey who is a licensed psychologist practicing here in Beaufort. Katie is the daughter of our very own, Scott Rider. She will be discussing the psychological challenges that persons with PD and their carepartners face both in the diagnosis and living with the illness. It promises to be an informative and open discussion.
Below is further background on Katie:
Katie Rider Mundey, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist and women’s mental health specialist. Her practice, She Thrives Psychology & Consulting, is devoted to assisting women with a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, chronic pain management, depression, disordered eating and body image concerns, maternal mental health challenges, and more. She provides evidence-based psychotherapy in-person at her Beaufort, SC office and virtually in 40+ states. Dr. Rider Mundey earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University. She then completed an APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral residency in Clinical Psychology at the Oklahoma City VA and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Hope to see everyone there!
